what exactly is love?
to most its just another four letter word that gets thrown around on a daily basis, a "cliche". its a word that has no significant meaning to them in any way. a word describing their favorite food, "i love apples" or describing their favorite thing to do, "i love writing" or "i love walking". whatever the case the word love to certain people is just another four letter word.
but, there's also people who limit the word to things they have a strong feeling and desire for. mainly the people they feel the strongest for. like family or spouse.
but then there's my definition of love.
whether you agree with it or not, i dont really care.
to me love is waking up in the morning and knowing that no matter what, the day will end with a smile.
and the only factor that assures that, is the one certain person who you would do anything for as long as it made them smile. it didnt have to be a huge smile, it could even be a smal grin. but even the smallest of smiles makes any attempt worth it. knowing that you have someone out there in the world that you can count on, someone you can turn to with all your problems makes everything in your life feel like its not just another irrelevant action in the world.
to me love is staying up late, just in case that one special person needs someone to talk. waiting for a text that says "are you busy, i need someone to talk to" even if a years gone by and you've only had 1 or 2 times like that come up, you still stay up late just in case. loving someone means to be there for them when noone else is. it means reassuring them that no matter what they will always have someone who will listen to them. whether its 4 pm or 3 am, they'll know someone is there for them.
to me love is, a word yes, but a very important word. a word that has more meaning than almost every other word in the english dictionary. its almost beyond a word. its a way of life for some people. the people who base their lives on the people they love. getting home on time so they can talk to them on msn. making sure they always have time on their phone so tehy can always text each other, and doing anything to see their face, hold their hand, and kiss their lips. doing this all while you hold them close, letting them know that you love them.
love is watching the same movie over and over again because it reminds you of the one person who lights up your life like the brightest star in sight.
love is setting your music to repeat one song because it describes the feelings you have for that special someone almost completely.
love is trying to do whatever it takes to make sure the person you are certain you love is happy throughout the day.
love is the urge to fight for someone. fight for their love and fight for their happiness.
but most of all love is the only thing in the world that can make six long months feel like 5 short minutes. the only thing that clears your mind of all memories besides the ones you have of that one special person.
love is, just that. love.
which ever way you wanna define it, love is simply love.
a feeling stronger than any other.

webster defines love as :

1 a (1): strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties <maternal love for a child> (2): attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers (3): affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests"

we all have definitons for love. but there's always one thing in common. its a feeling. an inevitable feeling. an inconvinient feeling for some.
but for me i wouldnt trade anything for the feeling of love.
